The Making of a Disciple: The Cancer Within
Life is hard.  Our world is in the throes of agony and despair.  Is there any hope?  Is there any way out of the maze of confusion and trouble?  Is there any cure for the cancer within our souls?  Jesus says resoundingly, “Yes!”

Matthew 6:25-34

The Making of a Disciple: Secret Christianity
When it comes to living the Christian life, Jesus makes it clear that what we do is to be done in service to others and for the glory of God alone, with no thought for self or the approval of others.  This is something that each one of us must wrestle with on a daily basis.

    ~Matthew 6:1-18

The Making of a Disciple: The Highest Road
When it comes to living the Christian life, Jesus' teaching on how to respond to insults and personal injustices is something that each one of us must wrestle with on a daily basis.  Jesus' instructions are not easy and go against nearly every fiber of our being.

The Making of a Disciple: Drastic Measures
Jesus takes a radical approach when telling us how to deal with our sin.  What exactly does He mean?  How are we to understand Him?             ~Matthew 5:27-32 (NIV)

The Making of a Disciple: A Heart of Obedience
Jesus said, “If you love me you will keep my commandments” (Jn. 14:15).  The heart of a disciple is a heart of obedience.  For a disciple filled by the Holy Spirit, obedience is not a burden, but a delight.

The Making of a Disciple: Character Matters
In light of what took place recently at the Capitol, as the Electoral College was set to ratify the results of November's presidential election, people are asking, "Is there any hope for America?"  But a far greater question is this:  "What kind of people ought we to be" (2 Peter 3:11)?  Or, in the words of Chuck Colson, "How NOW shall we live?"  Jesus Sermon on the Mount gives a clear picture of how you and I should live in anticipation of the return of Christ.  The Beatitudes reveal to us the character of a true disciple and "conduct flows out of character" (Wiersbe).

Renewed Hope for a New Year
    Series: (All)
Our world is in the throes of distress at nearly every level.  It is easy to lose heart in the midst of such chaos.  Is there any hope?  Until Jesus returns there is always hope.  He is the Hope of the world and the Church is His ambassador of Hope.  God's mercies are new every morning.  The promises of Christ should renew the hope for every believer.

    Rescue Mission: Captives Freed
We live in a broken world. There is no shortage of human misery.  All humanity is or has been in bondage to it and the dark prince who rules it, but Jesus came on a rescue mission to free the enslaved and to restore that which was broken.

    All of Me: My Mind
    Series: All of Me
Mankind was created with intelligence and reason vastly superior to all other creatures in God's created order.  We are to worship God with all our mind.  This s a distinct marker of the image of God. We are rational beings, able to communicate at the deepest of levels:  Language – Art – Music –Engineering.  It is the mind that provides boundaries for our passions (our heart) plus focus and motivation for our strength.

What is it you want, that you can’t stop thinking about? What is the focus of your daydreams?  What keeps you awake nights?  What dominates your conversations?   What would others say is the driving force of your life?  What is it that you proverbially eat, drink and breathe?  This is what you worship.  This is your heart's desire.  God is the only one worthy of being your heart's desire.
    Mark 12:29-31; Matthew 5:6
