A CHRISTMAS CAROL: Come Thou Long-Expected Jesus
Christmas is a time of anticipation and expectation.  The Christmas carol, Come Thou Long-Expected Jesus, is a cherished carol about the longing of God's people since the Fall of man for the coming of a Redeemer (Messiah, Christ).  The birth of Jesus brought light and hope into the world and fulfilled that age-old longing.  But our longing is not complete.  There is something more that God's people should be living in eager expectation of.

    HOPE GROWS HERE: God-Honoring Excellence
We are encourage by the teaching Jesus and the Apostles to work diligently and with excellence in everything we do.  Not just for good people, important people or persons of power, but also for those who may be harsh and unkind--for those who do not appreciate us.  The reason is that it is really not people that we are working for, but Christ Himself.  There could be not greater incentive than this to offer our very best.

HOPE GROWS HERE: It Is Written
If we are to build bridges of grace that bear the weight of truth, those bridges must be built upon proper and substantial piers (core values).  The first, and most central, of these values is Biblical Authority.  It is only when the Word of God is held in the highest of esteem and its principles faithfully applied in our lives, that we can makes sense of this broken world and bring real hope to its hurting people.

SUMMER IN THE SON: Happy are the Pure-Hearted
Why is it that some people can see certain things and others cannot?  For example, you may be familiar with the fascinating, 3-D drawings called "Magic Eye" images.  Some can see them while others cannot.  Another examples would be the world of color.  Some people see colors clearly, others cannot.  Why is it that some people can see God, or the evidence of God while others cannot.  Jesus gives us the answer.  He makes it clear that it is an issue of the heart.
