Ends of the Earth: Accountable
Everyone needs accountability.  Even the Apostles needed accountability.  Accountability keeps us on mission and protects us from blind spots and giving in to personal agendas.  At the conclusion of the first missionary journey of Paul and Barnabas, they returned to the church that had sent them (Antioch) to give a report.  They were then called to the mother church in Jerusalem to give a full account of what they were preaching and teaching and give clarity to reports they had received from others.

Out of the Box: Surprised by Prayer
There is power when God’s people pray, doing more than we could imagine or think.  When the church joined in prayer at the imprisonment of Peter, God showed up in a way that the church did not expect.  They were more than just a little surprised.  Was it because they did not believe God would answer their prayers, or was it that He answered their prayers in a way they did not expect?  Did they lack faith or did God give them more than they were asking?

Out of the Box: Not For Sale
There have always been individuals who will exploit the Gospel, or anything for that matter, for personal gain or profit.  But the Gospel is not for sale.  The Holy Spirit is not for sale.  The apostles were confronted with just such an individual in the city of Samaria following the preaching of Philip.  When he witnessed the power of the Holy Spirit and how it was imparted through the apostles he sought to get in on the action.  It was then he learned a lesson we all need to be reminded of.  God cannot be bought.

    KINGDOM COME: Fully Devoted
    Series: Kingdom Come
What does it mean to be fully devoted?  What does that look like?  One of Satan's primary weapons against believers is distraction.  It is easy to be distracted and have our energy consumed chasing good things instead of the best things.   This was a challenge the early church had to face as well and we can learn much from their example.

    KINGDOM COME: Blessing & Power
    Series: Kingdom Come
Jesus Christ had been crucified and was now risen from the dead.  Hope had been reborn in the disciples and the mission of Christ was about to be launched.  But the disciples were waiting . . . they were waiting for the power to accomplish the task they were called to.  That power is the Holy Spirit. With the coming of Pentecost came also the Holy Spirit and the church was birth in power.  What does that me for us today?

    The In-Betweens
    Series: (All)
Most of us lead busy lives and spend our time running rapidly from one event to the next and one stage of life to the next. We are uncomfortable with the in between times.  As a result, we become anxious and irritated.  Sometimes we take matters into our own hands rather than waiting on God.  That also results if further worry and frustration.  What if we learned patience and the blessing of living fully in the in between times?

SUMMER IN THE SON: Happy are the Persecuted
The beatitudes of Jesus teach us that living a life that honors Him will  result in persecution, and that persecution of this nature is an honor and a joy.  This clearly goes counter to everything we know and believe in the flesh.  It is only with the aid of God that we will be able to embrace this kind of suffering with joy and experience the kind of happiness Jesus speaks of.
