The In-Betweens
Series: (All)
Most of us lead busy lives and spend our time running rapidly from one event to the next and one stage of life to the next. We are uncomfortable with the in between times.  As a result, we become anxious and irritated.  Sometimes we take matters into our own hands rather than waiting on God.  That also results if further worry and frustration.  What if we learned patience and the blessing of living fully in the in between times?

Genesis 17:18-21; 1 Samuel 16:7;  Luke 5:15-16

SUMMER IN THE SON: Happy are the Persecuted
The beatitudes of Jesus teach us that living a life that honors Him will  result in persecution, and that persecution of this nature is an honor and a joy.  This clearly goes counter to everything we know and believe in the flesh.  It is only with the aid of God that we will be able to embrace this kind of suffering with joy and experience the kind of happiness Jesus speaks of.

    STAND: A Royal Affair
    Series: Stand
Taking a stand against immorality in the culture is a difficult stand to take, especially when you are confronting the king or the president of a country.  You might even lose your head.  Such was the case for John the Baptist, whose ministry didn't end, in all likelihood, as he envisioned it would.  After all, he was the forerunner of the Messiah. Matthew 14:1-12; Mark 6:14-29

Giving can often be like this, we know that we should be doing it but it feels like a struggle. Why should we be generous? How can we truly discover the joy of giving?

    BE LIKE JESUS: Humility
Humility is a very noble characteristic to possess and has become increasingly rare in our current culture.
