STAND: For Life
Series: Stand
When the Egyptian Pharaoh was bent on exterminating the Jewish male children, he sought to enlist the aid of the midwives of the Hebrews.  Little did he expect that his evil plans would be thwarted by two gutsy women who had  the courage to stand against the most powerful man in the ancient world.  There is a modern genocide under way with the extermination of the unborn.  We need the same kind of courage to stand against evil in defense of life. Exodus 1:8-22

    STAND
    Series: Stand
Standing against evil is difficult to do.  Difficult times call for courageous men and women who recognize that we are at war with the forces of evil; men and women who understand that they cannot stand against this formidable foe without depending wholly upon God and His resources; men and women who also know that with the armor God provides, and in His strength alone, we can not only stand, but are more than conquerors.  "Greater is He who is in you, than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

    Further Up & Further In
    Series: Stand
The New Year is for most of us a time of new beginnings.  It is a time when we look back on the year past and re-calibrate for the in front of us.  We need to be reminded frequently that God is always calling His children "further up" in their understanding and knowledge of Him and "further in" in intimacy with Christ and His indwelling Spirit.  Not one of us has yet been fully transformed into the likeness of Christ, but God's will is that each of us would grow more like Him in 2019 than in years past.  To that end, let's press on.

    Run With Endurance

SEASON OF WONDER: Thriving Thru the Chaos of Christmas
Most of us have experienced the chaos of the Christmas season--traffic jams, impatient shoppers, relentless commercialism and exploitation.  It is easy to feel like you're emotionally drowning in all the seasonal stuff; like every ounce of joy is being squeezed from your body.  It may do us well to remember that Jesus was born into just such a chaotic time and season.  It was just such chaos that He came, in part, to save us from.  We want to do more that survive the chaos of the season.  We want to thrive through it.  So, just how  do we do that?

SEASON OF WONDER: God’s Indescribable Gift
How do you describe the indescribable?  How do you explain the unexplainable?  You don't.  You either reject it or accept it with a sense of awe, wonder and mystery.

SEASON OF WONDER: The Whisper of God
When we think of God speaking into human history and into our solitary lives we most often look for the grand and spectacular.  But all through Scripture, more often than not, when God speaks is with the still small voice of a whisper.  As a result, because our lives are so hectic and cluttered, or simply because we are oblivious, we tend to miss the whisper of God.   The sweetest whisper of God was spoken on a night in Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago.  The chaotic world of that day, much like our own, was too busy and distracted to notice.

TRAINING IN GODLINESS: The Joy of Giving
I don't particularly enjoy going to the gym, but i go because I want to get stronger/healthier. I don't really get much joy out of it. Giving can often be like this, we know that we should be doing it but it feels like a struggle. Why should we be generous? How can we truly discover the joy of giving?

    TRAINING IN GODLINESS: True Sacrifice
When you think about “sacrifice,” what do you most commonly thing about?  War Veterans? Baseball? Diet? What parents do for children? Putting off a needed purchase?   Though there may be an element of sacrifice in each of these, in its original and deepest meaning, sacrifice involved the death of a living creature as payment or atonement for sin.

    Living in a Foreign Land
    Series: (All)
Have you ever found yourself somewhere, or in a situation, where you didn't fit it, where you felt not at home?  If you are a believer in Christ, if you are a Christian, this is your reality.  Peter calls us aliens, strangers, foreigners.  This world is not our home, yet we have been placed here for a purpose, for a mission.  We will face unique challenges.  How are we to live--how are we to conduct ourselves--while living in a foreign land.  Jim Newman, our minister of Missions from Australia, is the perfect person to help us answer these questions and to help us understand our position and our calling.
