Once we learn to  THINK like Jesus and ACT like Jesus, an amazing thing happens--we actually begin to BE like Jesus.  The fruit of the Spirit begins to shape who we are actually becoming.  LOVE is the starting point and we will know we are actually making progress when we find ourselves loving difficult people. -John 4:10-11

    Walking on Water
Following the feeding of the five-thousand, the disciples are about to encounter their first real test of faith where Jesus is not visibly present with them.  Overwhelming fear turns to courage (in regard to Peter); courage returns to fear then to  profound awe, wonder and worship.  How will we handle the storms of life that will inevitably come; when we don't sense the presence of Christ?  How will we handle Jesus' invitation to do what seems impossible?  Will we have the courage to step out of the boat?  Will we keep our focus on Jesus or our surrounding circumstances?  Will we walk on water or will we sink in despair?

    Surprise Picnic
At the height of Jesus' popularity Jesus subtly, but intentionally leads crowds of people to follow Him into the middle of nowhere.  He is about to put both His disciples and the crowd to a test.  There are things that we can learn for this testing as well. Matthew 14:13-21; Mark 6:30-44; Luke 9:10-17; John 6:1-15

    About Dirt & Hearts
Jesus most often taught using parables, which are for more than a clever allegories with a moral.  They were not mere illustrations but contained the very heart and meat of His message.  That message would reveal truth to some and conceal it from others. In this particular parable, the "kingdom fruitfulness" of a life was dependent upon the heart of each individual. Mark 4:1-20

    Divine Interruptions
Much of Jesus' ministry years was marked by what we would consider interruptions, as in the time he healed the woman with an issue of blood as he was on His way to heal a dying girl.  But in reality, most of Jesus' miracles were "interruptions."  But what are interruptions to us are divine opportunities for Jesus.  We need to leave room for the unexpected and see that some "interruptions" are really God's plan for us to serve others in Jesus name. Mark 5:21-42

    No Fear
The situations that we often find ourselves in can often be frightening, yet we are consistently encouraged through Scripture to "have no fear."  Though we sometimes fear, Jesus is never afraid.  We need to draw our strength and courage from the One who will never leave us nor forsake us. Mark 5:1-21

    Gone Fishing
As a boy, Jesus grew up just about 15 miles from the Sea of Galilee.  He moved His mission operations to Capernaum, on the northern shore of the sea of Galilee, where He called His first disciples.  We will spend our "Summer at the Seaside" learning from Jesus as we seek to learn all Jesus would have us learn from many of  the miracles of Jesus' ministry around the Sea of Galilee.  We will begin our journey as He invites 4 men to "Go Fishing" for MEN.
    Matthew 4:12-22; Mark 1:14-20
